Review

The King is back! T.I. returns with a fury on his first official release since his incarnation with the aptly titled "I'm Back".

The Trackslayerz production sets the hardcore tone for an intense T.I. to get a lot of things off his chest. "I'm Back" is definitely on that street single tip (no pun intended), partly evident by a hook that is certainly eye-catching (ear-catching?) but not particularly catchy. He rips through his verses with some thoughts on the game while he was gone and some added insight into some experiences while he was in jail. My favorite verse is the second where he drops this one-liner, "Think the power's in your gun but overall, it's in your heart".

On the third verse, T.I. takes aim at the haters and doubters, utilizing some intelligent diction in the process, in addition to a dope 'molotov cocktail' line. Overall, "I'm Back" offers listeners a glimpse at the changed man and will certainly satisfy longtime T.I. fans in need of some new material. To me, it's solid but not spectacular; no better than other songs of this type from T.I. like "You Don't Know Me" and "Hurt".

It goes verses, hook, and beat in a distant third if I had to dissect the song like that.
